Stratford Mayor urges residents to keep safety in mind as area enters Stage Three

Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson says we have to take all the COVID-19 regulations into serious consideration as we get ready to enter Stage Three of reopening.

Huron Perth, including the City of Stratford, is part of the majority of the province that will enter Stage Three as of Friday with almost every business reopening.

Regions moving into Stage 3 will see indoor gathering limits increase from ten to a maximum of fifty people while outdoor will increase to 100 people.

Mathieson says it’s important to keep safety front of mind including wearing masks in indoor commercial and public spaces.

“We’re really working on how we make sure that the second wave or the third wave of this virus, which will come either this fall or through the winter, is not going to be catastrophic.”

Huron Perth Public Health announced on Tuesday that there are currently no active COVID-19 cases in the region.
