Ontario gives go ahead for construction of West Perth Village in Mitchell

It’s full steam ahead for West Perth Village in Mitchell when it comes to their new $24-million, 128 long-term care bed facility.

Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece announced late Thursday afternoon that the province has given the go-ahead for construction, expected to start in September, to begin.

The villa will replace the long-term care capacity at  Ritz Lutheran Villa and Mitchell Nursing Home to build a completely new, 72,000-square-foot structure with residents expected to begin moving in by August 2022.

In a July 8th letter to David Murray, chairperson of the Ritz Lutheran Villa board of directors, the Ministry of Long-Term Care approved the project’s technical drawings and specifications and the project can now proceed to tender.
