Police: Driver faces impaired charges after large crash in Mitchell

A 45-year-old Stratford man faces impaired driving charges after police say they caused a large crash in Mitchell this past weekend.
Just after 11 o’clock Saturday night, first responders were called to a crash on Huron Road in Mitchell.
Police say they determined a sports car was traveling westbound on Huron Road when it left the road and collided with two parked vehicles.
The second parked vehicle that was struck then careened into a third parked vehicle that in turn struck a residence.
Three parked vehicles, a home, a tree, and three front yards were all heavily damaged.
A homeowner provided aid by extinguishing an engine fire and assisting the uninjured driver, according to police.
The investigating officer says they noted the driver had consumed alcohol and was displaying several signs of impairment.
The driver was arrested for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Sebringville OPP Detachment for breath tests which were found to be over the legal limit.
They’ve been charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
