Stratford Police continue to investigate suspicious fire

Stratford Police are continuing to investigate a suspicious fire in the city.

They say the blaze took place early Saturday morning when a stack of wooden skids outside a multi-unit dwelling on Brunswick Street was deliberately set on fire.

The fire spread quickly, setting the dwelling house on fire and it ended up causing approximately $1-million in damage.

SPS says all residents escaped with the assistance of employees from a nearby business.

Police are looking for assistance with the investigation and they’re requesting any business operating video surveillance located on Brunswick Street, Albert Street, or Ontario Street, between Downie Street and Waterloo Street, to contact them.

They are also asking anyone who may have information related to the investigation to call them or Crime Stoppers.
