Kirkton man charged with impaired driving after collision in West Perth

Perth County OPP says one person has been charged for impaired driving after their vehicle collided with a tree and fence in West Perth.

They say they received a report just before six o’clock in the morning on August 9th about a collision that happened on Perth Road 180.

Police say the driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was not injured.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol and a Roadside Screening Device test was done which resulted in a fail.

The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

A 50-year-old Kirkton man has been charged with impaired driving.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Stratford.

The driver had their license suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for a week.
