City offers free WiFi to educators to allow outdoor education

The City of Stratford is expanding its free WiFi service so it can be used by schools outside.  The City has partnered with Rhyzome Networks.  The aim is to provide free WiFi to teachers in order to support safe social distancing for students.

New equipment will be added and adjustments will be made around Stratford District Secondary School and St. Michael Catholic Secondary School and other green spaces so teachers have an option to take children outside and still have a reliable Internet connection.  City picnic tables will also be rearranged to help with physical distancing.

“As our young people head back to school in the coming weeks, we want to do everything we can to support local school boards in their efforts to provide a safe learning environment,” said Mayor Dan Mathieson
