Huron Perth MOH:Halloween will look different because of COVID-19

The Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth says we need to start thinking about celebrations in different ways because of COVID-19.

Dr.Miriam Klassen told a media call Monday afternoon that we should be looking for ways to celebrate Halloween this year using social distancing or by going online.

She says she expects provincial direction will come down on the best way to celebrate the holiday in the near future.

It comes as there are currently three active COVID-19 cases in Huron Perth.

Dr.Klassen says one of the two new active cases is in Stratford with the other in Central Huron and she says one of those cases was the contact of a previous case.

She says it’s not currently known how the other case contacted the virus.

There have been 126 confirmed cases of the virus in the region with 118 of those recovered.

The death toll remains at 5.
