Teenager faces charges including assaulting Stratford Police officer

An 18-year-old male faces a series of charges including assaulting a Stratford Police officer.

Around 10:30 Monday morning, Stratford Police say they were contacted by residents of a home on Erie Street.

They reported the teen was at the home damaging property and officers came to the scene and found the suspect who was on conditions not to go to the hom and not to communicate with one of the people who lives there.

He was arrested and charged for Mischief Under $5000 on October 8th and was released with the conditions.

As he was being arrested on Monday, police say he lunged at the officer and pushed him against a wall.

The officers were able to gain control of the male without anyone suffering any injuries and he was transported to Stratford Police Headquarters without further incident.

The teen faces numerous charges.
