Three people charged following break and enter at Stratford home

Three people from Stratford face charges after a break and enter in the city.

Just after 9 o’clock Wednesday morning, Stratford Police were called about a break and enter at a home on Louise Street.

Police went to the scene and say they learned that a suspect had fled when the homeowner returned, just before police got there.

SPS searched the area, along with their canine unit, and their investigation lead them to a wooded area between Erie Street and Railway Avenue where property stolen from the home was found.

A 25-year-old Stratford man was identified as the suspect and he was arrested at a motel in the south end of the city.

Police say they also arrested two other people at the motel for Possession of Stolen Property.

Search warrants were later conducted by police at the motel, resulting in the recovery of a number of items that were identified as being stolen from other area thefts and break and enters.

A significant amount of other property has also been seized that is believed as stolen and police are searching for those it belongs to.
