Keller, Gϋnter

Gϋnter Alois Keller, age 85 of Stratford, passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on September 3rd.  He was born in Schweinfurt, Germany, son of the late August and Anna Keller.  Beloved husband for 53 years of Rosemarie (nee Hofmann).  Loving father of Christine VanDenBelt (Bernie) and Father Peter Keller.   Cherished Papa of Victoria and Olivia VanDenBelt.  Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Gertraud Schneider.  Gϋnter began his career with FAG Bearings in 1953, moving to Canada in 1955 and retiring as Chief Engineer in 1992.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, serving as an organist there for 24 years.  He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Justice J. M. King Assembly #1866 and was a member of the Kilroy Council #1431.  He and Rosemarie enjoyed their summers at the family cottage on Lake Huron where he “engineered” many building projects in between barbecuing, watching sunsets and stargazing.  Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, September 7th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.  The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford on Monday September 8th at 11:00 am.  Burial in Avondale Cemetery.  As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital or the Knights of Columbus through the funeral home.  The Knights of Columbus will hold a service at the funeral home Sunday at 1:45 p.m.  519.271.7411   www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
