Stratford Police Chief appointed to Order of Merit of the Police Forces

Stratford’s Chief of Police has a new feather in his cap.

John Bates has been appointed to the Order of Merit of the Police Forces.

He says he’s honoured:

The Order of Merit of the Police Forces recognizes conspicuous merit and exceptional service by members of Canadian police forces.

Chief Bates says he couldn’t have done it alone:

He’ll be invested into the order on September 9th by Canada’s Governor General.

The ceremony will be taking place at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.

Chief Bates adds this honour to others such as his Police Exemplary Service and his Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medals.
