Stratford woman faces impaired charges after collision in Perth South

A 24-year-old Stratford woman faces impaired charges after a collision in Perth South.

SPS says they got a call around 9:45 Wednesday night about a single-vehicle collision on Line 29 near Road 122.

When officers arrived at the scene they say they observed that a blue Chevrolet Sedan had gone off the road and struck a hydro pole, snapping it completely in two.

The female driver of the vehicle was standing outside of the car, uninjured and was questioned about what had happened.

Police say during the conversation the officer determined the woman had been drinking and she provided a breath sample at the scene which resulted in a fail.

She was arrested and transported to Stratford Police Headquarters where she was required to provide further samples of her breath, which indicated an alcohol level over the legal limit.

She’s been charged with Operation While Impaired by Alcohol and Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration.

Her vehicle was impounded for seven days and she she’s scheduled to appear in court on November 21st.
