A twelfth resident at a Stratford retirement home has died in a COVID-19 outbreak.

Huron Perth Medical Officer of Health Dr.Miriam Klassen told a media call on Monday afternoon that the resident at Cedarcroft Place Retirement Residence had tested positive for COVID-19 and was experiencing residual effects following recovery from the infection.

There have been 45 confirmed COVID-19 cases in residents at the home and 23 in staff.

There are two active cases in residents, with both in hospital, with 31 recovered and 19 staff members have recovered with four still active.

The death toll from the virus in Huron Perth is at 18.

There are currently 52 active COVID-19 cases in Huron Perth and there have been 333 total confirmed cases since the pandemic began.

Of those cases, 263 are resolved.
