Schneider, Stanley Ross

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Dad and Grandpa. Stan passed away at Stratford General Hospital with family by his side on December 26, 2020 in his 97th year.

Born in Ellice Township on February 28, 1924 to Conrad Schneider and Lydia Wilhem, Stan will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 71 years, Edith (née Gross); daughters Susan (Terry) Flynn, Linda (Erik) Vaartnou,  Jennifer (Mark) Zornes and Nancy (Louis) Eckert; and grandchildren Galen, Kaylie (Edgar), Tiiu, Levi, Khonrad and Anneleis.  He is also survived by sister Kathleen Riehl and sister-in-law Betty Gross and was pre-deceased by brothers Ken (Viola) Schneider and Morris (Madelene) Schneider and brother-in-law Ted Riehl. Stan will be missed by the entire extended Schneider and Gross families and many friends and neighbours in the Stratford – Sebringville area.

A man of exceptional intelligence, wisdom and integrity, Stan made a significant contribution throughout his life to his community including Emmanuel United Church in Sebringville as Treasurer, the Masons, Shriners, volunteer Fire Department and Ellice Township History Book Committee.  His business acumen added to the success of several local companies and especially to his own Schneider’s General Store. His proudest accomplishment and deepest love and commitment were to his family.

A private family service will be held. In memory of Stan, donations may be made through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, to Kids Help Phone, Operation Smile or the charity of your choice.  519.271.7411. www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
