Breaking: Second long-term care resident dies in COVID-19 outbreak in Listowel

A second long-term care resident has died in an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak at Caressant Care in Listowel.
Huron Perth Public Health officials confirmed the news to MyStratfordNow.com on Tuesday afternoon.
The outbreak at Caressant Care has now affected 40 residents and 16 staff on the long-term care side and 25 residents and seven staff on the retirement home side.
HPPH is reporting 36 new COVID-19 cases in the region with 23 in North Perth, four in Stratford and one case in both West Perth and St.Marys.
The rest are in Huron County with one case reassigned to a different health unit.
There are currently 152 active cases in the region, up from the 126 reported on Monday.
There have been 1,068 cases since the start of the pandmic with 889 recovered.
The death toll in the area is now at 27.
