Breaking: Man charged with attempted murder after suspicious fire in Mitchell

A 27-year-old man faces charges including attempted murder after a suspicious fire in Mitchell.

Just before 9:30 in the morning on February 11th, first responders were called to a fire at an apartment building on St.David Street.

Perth County OPP say two adults were transported to the hospital, one with serious injuries and the other with minor injuries.

Roger Pyne of no fixed address was arrested and has now been charged with Attempt to Commit Murder, Arson – Disregard for Human Life and three counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
