No new COVID-19 cases in Huron Perth

There are no new COVID-19 cases in Huron Perth.

Huron Perth Public Health released an update Tuesday morning.

Nine cases have been reassigned to different health units.

Huron Perth Medical Officer of Health Dr.Miriam Klassen said on Monday that the outbreak that has temporarily closed the Stratford Jail will result in COVID-19 case numbers “fluctuating” over the next several days by around nine or ten cases.

It comes as the inmates involved in the outbreak are moved to other facilities or return to our region.

There are currently 19 active cases in our region, ten fewer than reported on Monday.

There have been 1,312 cases since the pandemic began with 1,244 recovered.

The death toll remains at 49.
