Stratford Police charge Woodstock man with several offences

Stratford Police say they’ve recovered a large amount of stolen property.

They say it follows a break-in Thursday night at the Halo Car Wash in Stratford.

Just after 9 o’clock they say they received a report of a break-in at the business on Ontario Street which had happened about an hour before.

Officers discovered the suspect had stolen several items from an office at the business before fleeing on foot and they were able to get a description of him through video surveillance footage.

They were later called out shortly after 10 o’clock about a male breaking into vehicles in the Long Drive area and they figured out he was the same person who had broken into the car wash.

The 28-year-old Woodstock man was later found hiding in a vehicle and he now faces numerous charges including Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 and Possession of Weapons for a Dangerous Purpose.

Anyone in that area who discovers items are missing is asked to call SPS.
