Forrest, Ruth

Ruth Genevieve Forrest, age 84, of Stratford passed away peacefully at the Stratford General Hospital on September 21, 2014. Ruth was born in Strathroy, daughter of the late Ruthven and Mabel Glover. Ruth graduated as an RN from St. Thomas General Hospital where she continued to nurse until her marriage to Frederick Forrest February 26, 1955. Her and Fred farmed in Elgin and Perth Counties until Fredericks passing in 1980. Ruth was a Salvation Army Soldier. Loving mother of Alan (Sandy), Mark (Carol). Grandmother of Jessica (Clint), Darcy, Katelyn, Kody, Brett and Kurtis. Great grandmother of Domimus and Savannah. Also survived by a brother Bruce Glover and his family of Thunder Bay. Beside her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by sons James Lyle Gordon Forrest in 1996 and Bruce Frederick Forrest in 2012 and by her brother Lorne Glover. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St. Stratford on Wednesday, September 24, from 6-9 p.m. and on Thursdayfrom 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Major Denise Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Avondale Cemetery.
