An incident in Central Huron that led to an Amber Alert being issued has now resulted in one person being charged with Child Abduction.
Shortly after 7 o’clock last Wednesday morning, Huron County OPP says they learned a child had been abducted from a home in Bayfield.
Police say they launched an investigation and shortly after 11:00 o’clock in the morning, the abducted child was safely located safely in Toronto.
Additionally, with the assistance of York Regional Police & Toronto Police Service, the accused was taken into custody without incident.
A 30-year-old Markham resident has now been charged with Abduction of a Person under sixteen years of age.
They remain in police custody and are scheduled to appear in court in Goderich on Monday.
