Local federal Conservative nomination race now open

The Federal Conservative nomination race in Perth-Wellington is now open.

With MP Gary Schellenberger announcing his retirement last week the party is looking for a replacement.

The deadline to file is October 9th, with the nomination meeting expected to be held between November 6th and 9th.

John Nater of Mitchell is so far the only officially declared candidate.

He’s the chair of the candidate nomination committee.
