The St.Marys Fire Department says a sizable donation will help them buy new boots and communications equipment earlier than expected.
The donation, from a local couple, will go to buy the equipment that was scheduled to be replaced gradually over the next four years.
The new items will now be purchased in the next few weeks.
Fire Chief Richard Anderson says the donation is invaluable and it could mean the difference between life and death at one of their calls.
