Over $17.6 million on the way to help local schools protect against COVID-19

Over $17.6 million in funding is on the way to schools in our area to upgrade infrastructure and protect against COVID-19.

Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece says the money is coming from the governments of Ontario and Canada through the COVID-19 Reliance Infrastructure Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.

The Avon Maitland District School Board will receive $2.974 million while the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board will get $1.7 million.

It will go towards building retrofits, updates and upgrades to schools and co-located child care facilities including HVAC renovations.
