New modelling data and further restrictions for Ontario to be announced Friday afternoon

Brace yourself for a Friday afternoon of dire predictions for new cases of COVID-19 and a raft of new restrictions from the province.

We have learned Ontario health officials will reveal new modelling data that will show there could be up to 18,000 new diagnoses a day and up to 1,800 people in intensive care units by the end of May if the province continues on its current path.  Yesterday Associate Medical Officer of Health Dr. Barbara Yaffe called the situation dire.  Those numbers will be revealed at 1:00 Friday afternoon.

At 2:30 pm Premier Doug Ford will reveal new restrictions his cabinet has been debating for the last day.  According to sources, a curfew is no longer on the table, but restrictions on manufacturing, warehousing, construction, and religious services are being considered. However, Cabinet will meet again Friday morning to make a final decision.
