UTRCA wants to know if you’ve seen this snake

An Upper Thames River Conservation Authority biologist wants to know one thing.

Have you seen this snake?

Scott Gillingwater is looking for the Eastern Hog-nosed Snake.

The harmless creature is protected under provincial and federal law, but is sometimes killed because it mimics venomous species.

You can find pictures of the Eastern Hog-nosed Snake at this website and a video of it here.

If you see one you’re asked to get in touch with Scott Gillingwater by emailing [email protected] or calling 519-451-2800 ext 236.
