Stratford Police say they are investigating someone impersonating a police officer.
They say it happened on Saturday.
A Stratford resident was arrested this morning (Monday), according to police, but they were later released from custody, with no charges laid, after it was determined they weren’t involved.
Police say they’ve been made aware of a video showing the person’s arrest which was posted on social media.
The post, police say, resulted in the person being identified by name and threats were made against them.
The post has since been removed and police are asking residents not to put similar posts, an comments, on any social media site.
SPS is investigating and say they will inform the public if the person responsible is positively identified, arrested and charged.
