UPDATE: Investigators unable to determine cause of large fire in Listowel

UPDATE: 3:49 P.M. Tuesday
Investigators won’t be able to determine the cause of a large blaze in Listowel that caused around $1.2 million in damage.
North Perth Assistant Fire Chief Jason Benn tells MyStratfordNow.com first responders were called out to a fire at a modular home in The Village community just after 8:30 Monday night.
He says three modular homes were destroyed in the blaze and there was too much damage caused to be able to determine what sparked the blaze.
Benn adds one person was arrested at the scene after assaulting two firefighters when they arrived to fight the fire.
“It makes the job that much harder and it’s hard to prepare the firefighters for that, we did have one individual that was assaulted who said in his eighteen years of service he’s never, ever come across anything of that nature.”
Benn adds the assault was minor but the 50-year-old North Perth resident has been charged with assault.
Another person was taken to the hospital as a precaution with minor injuries.
