PDHU encouraging women to spread breast cancer awareness

It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

To encourage women to go for screenings the Perth District Health Unit is taking part in a contest.

All you have to do is take a picture of you and some family or friends talking about breast cancer screening.

Upload that picture to the South West Regional Cancer Program on Facebook and you could win a $250 gift card to the spa of your choice.

Remember that early detection is critical for successful treatment.

In Perth County there are three Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) locations: Stratford General Hospital, MIC Medical Imaging (Jenny Trout Centre) and Listowel Memorial Hospital. Women between the ages of 50 and 74 should be screened every two years. To book a mammogram, call 1-800-668-9304.

Head to this website for details on the contest.
