AMDSB students to be offered remote-learning option for the 2021-22 school year

Local students will have the option of continuing remote-learning for the next school year.

In a letter to families, Avon Maitland District School Board Director of Education Dr. Lisa Walsh says they are hopeful the spread of COVID-19 in Ontario will be greatly reduced, or better yet, eliminated by September.

She says the AMDSB firmly believes that student’s educational needs, their learning, socialization and well-being, with their teachers and their peers in school.

However, she says they recognize not all families will be comfortable returning to face to face learning in the new school year because of personal circumstances and she says remote learning will continue to be offered as an option.

Dr.Walsh adds more details will be released next month about the school year ahead.
