Stratford man elected Chancellor of UPEI

A Stratford man is taking on a new role.

Don McDougall has been elected Chancellor of the University of Prince Edward Island.

The decision was unanimous among voters.

UPEI posted the announcement on their website earlier this week.

McDougall is an alumnus of the school and holds an honorary degree from there as well.

He took over the Stratford-based Novatronics in 1983, running it for 2 decades before selling the business to Curtis-Wright.

UPEI hasn’t confirmed an installation date, but says the ceremony will take place early in 2014.
