Wellesley man charged after altercation in Stratford

Stratford Police say they’ve charged a 73-year-old Wellesley man after he intentionally hit a victim with his vehicle.

They say they received a report last Friday about an altercation involving a vehicle at a home on Regent Street in Stratford.

Police say they went to the home and learned the suspect and the victim had got into an argument outside with the Wellesley man allegedly reversing his Dodge Ram pick-up truck directly at the victim, who was hit, but was able to jump out of the way enough to avoid being injured.

The suspect then drove his truck at a trailer belonging to the victim, driving into it multiple times, causing serious damage.

He left the scene before police arrived but was found at a home in Perth South on Saturday.

He faces charges including Assault with a Weapon and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
