Seaforth resident credited with helping to save man trapped underneath vehicle

A Seaforth resident is being credited with helping rescue a man who was trapped underneath a vehicle.

Huron County OPP says they received a call around 2:30 Tuesday morning from the resident who said they could hear someone yelling for help.

Officers responded to the Coleman Street area and soon after an officer started hearing the same calls for help.

Shortly after the investigating officer tracked the sound to the Seaforth Lion’s Park on Huron Road where they found a male pinned beneath a four-door hatchback.

First responders were able to jack up the car and safely remove the trapped man.

The injured 34-year-old was transported to the hospital where he was later treated and released with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators learned the victim had been doing some work on the exhaust of his car when the jack shifted causing the car to drop and trap him below.
