Goderich man falls victim to computer repair scam

The Huron County OPP is once again warning people about the “Microsoft Scam”.

Police say a Goderich man fell victim to it last week, losing nearly a $1,000.

A person will call you pretending to be from Microsoft or some other computer company and say your computer is in need of repairs.

They’ll then ask you to give them remote access to your computer, something you most certainly should not do.

If you get a call like this the OPP says you should simply hang up the phone.
