Shakespeare firefighters raising money to buy life-saving equipment

Firefighters in Shakespeare are hoping the public will help them keep the community safe.

The Shakespeare Firefighter’s Association says it responds to an average of 100 emergency calls annually with about half of the calls being motor vehicle accidents.

The volunteer association is currently fundraising to buy lifesaving equipment they say will allow the firefighters to operate more efficiently, giving them a better chance of getting people to the hospital and saving lives.

They say they need to raise  $45,000 to $50,000 in order to purchase the equipment.

You can contact the association to find out how you can donate.
