Death toll from COVID-19 in Huron Perth now at 55

Huron Perth Public Health is reporting a death from COVID-19 for a second straight day.

It brings the death toll in the region to 55.

A HPPH spokesperson says the death was that of a community member and was not related to any ongoing outbreaks.

They didn’t specify where in the region the person was from.

There are twenty new cases being reported with eight in Stratford, four in Perth East, two in St.Marys, two in North Perth and one each in Perth South and West Perth.

The other two are in Huron County.

There are 87 active cases, ten more than Wednesday, with 43 active cases associated with variants of concern, up three from Wednesday.
