Police: Two youths face weapons charges after incident at Stratford home

Weapons charges have been lad against two young people in Stratford.

Police say they were notified on Wednesday morning by the owner of a home on Younge Street who said a shed in their backyard had been broken into overnight.

After watching video surveillance footage, police say they saw the two youths go into the backyard at the home around 10:30 Tuesday night with one of the suspects holding a handgun.

The two then left the area without taking anything and they were later identified and arrested.

The suspected handgun was located during the arrest and was found to be a BB gun, which police took and held as evidence.

Both suspects face several charges including Weapons Dangerous, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
