Stratford Police reminding you about water safety

Stratford Police are reminding you to wear your life jacket while out boating.

If you’re out on a boat with passengers you’re required to have as many life jackets as people on board and the life jackets must be easily accessible.

Constable Darren Fischer says you also need to have all of the required safety equipment on board.

He says make sure you’re clear headed while in your boat.

“Keep alcohol on the shore, boating while impaired or with open alcohol is illegal and dangerous and it greatly increases your risk of an incident out on the water.”

Fischer adds SPS will be out patrolling the water at the Wildwood Reservoir over the summer.
