Free webinar looking at preventing and controlling COVID-19 outbreaks among temporary foreign workers

Preventing and controlling COVID-19 outbreaks among temporary foreign workers on area farms.

That’s the topic of a free webinar being put on by Huron Perth Public Health on Friday afternoon on Zoom.

Officials say the webinar will include tips on how to prevent an outbreak and how to keep everyone safe.

Jessica Van Geffen is a Public Health Inspector with HPPH and she says temporary foreign workers can face different health risks than others.

“They have housing units and that’s where there is a little bit of a different risk factor there because we’ve got congregate living units so that’s where we’ve got people living in close quarters.”

The webinar is being held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
