St.Marys man charged with intentionally disabling smoke alarm

A 49-year-old St.Marys man has been charged after officials say he intentionally disabled a smoke alarm.

The charge brings with it a $360 fine.

No one was injured in the incident but officials say it could have resulted in a much more devastating outcome.

The St. Marys Fire Department is urging all residents to install and regularly test all smoke and CO alarms and never disable them.
