Police are telling people to stay under cover as shots were fired near the Chateau Laurier Hotel. Police presence is very tense around the eastern part of Parliament Hill. Police are hunkered down behind large stone pillars and trying to get to various vantage points. Police are saying there is possibly a long-gun involved. There are reports of a gunman on the roof of Parliament. The Prime Minister is safe in a secure location and MPs are off the Hill. The Centre and East Blocks are on locked down. There is no official word on how many shooters are involved. There are unconfirmed reports that a shooter was killed in gunfire in the Centre Block. Last official word was the gunman is still on the loose. Police are telling everyone to lock their doors in the area of Parliament and stay inside. It is not safe for bystanders.
