You’re being reminded to protect yourself against mosquito bites.
Huron Perth Public Health says they are issuing the reminder after mosquitoes collected from a trap in Goderich tested positive for West Nile Virus.
It’s the first positive mosquito finding of the season for Huron County.
HPPH has been trapping and testing mosquitoes in locations across Huron and Perth since June 10th.
Homeowners are being reminded to check their properties for areas of standing water and remove them to prevent breeding areas for mosquitoes.
