The Stratford Fall Fair will look a lot different for a second straight year.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Stratford and District Agricultural Society has decided not to hold any in-person events for the 180th edition of the fair and instead to hold a few events in a virtual format and on a smaller scale.
Fair Chair and Deputy Mayor for the City of Stratford Martin Ritsma says the decision was made after talking to health and other city officials and it’s the second year in a row the pandemic has led to the decision not to have any in-person events.
Ritsma says they investigated having a smaller midway but decided against it in the end.
“When it came down to it we thought for the safety of our volunteers, the safety of the citizens of Stratford, we thought this would be the best decision.”
