“Grandparent Scam” attempt in Zorra Township unsuccessful

The Grandparent Scam may be going around the area again.

The OPP got a call from a Zorra Township resident on Wednesday.

Someone claiming to be related to the victim was asking for money to help them out of a bind.

They were on the ball though and didn’t fall for it.

Police are reminding you to be cautious as scams like this become more and more common.

Contact The Canadian Anti-Fraud Center for any information on the types of scams that are out there and known to be used at 1-888-495-8501 or http://www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca.
