A 38-year-old Stratford man faces charges after police say he gave a noxious substance to an 11-year-old girl.
Stratford Police arrested the man just before 4:30 Wednesday afternoon and charged him with Administering a Noxious Substance and Breach of Recognizance.
Police say the man is known to them and he’s currently charged with several sexual offences regarding a youth, with a court date scheduled for January 10th.
On Wednesday, police say they received a report the male had been giving a unknown substance to an 11-year-old girl, which caused her to feel sick and have limited
memory of what happened after ingesting it.
She lived with the male in a family setting, and police say it’s suspected that the accused had administered the noxious substance to the girl numerous times over a period of four to five years.
The man has been held in custody to attend a bail hearing and supports have been offered to the female victim and her family.
