University of Waterloo strengthening COVID-19 measures, proof of vaccination now required

The University of Waterloo will require everyone on its campuses to provide proof of vaccination. That will include the Stratford campus.

All staff, students, and visitors will have to provide proof by September 7th.

Anyone who isn’t fully vaccinated will have to have two shots before October 17th.  If those people need to be on campus before then they will have to undergo a rapid COVID-19 test.

Accommodations will be provided for people who have a medical reason for not getting vaccinated but they will also have to have a negative COVID-19 test result 72 hours before visiting the campuses.

Vivek Goel, president and vice-chancellor, says instructions on how to submit proof of vaccination or to apply  for an accommodation will be sent out later this week.
