We’re set to see one of the biggest jumps at the gas pumps we’ve seen in a long time.
That’s according to Dan McTeague, a gas price analyst and President of Canadians for Affordable Energy, who says the cost will increase by 5 cents in the Stratford area and across most of Ontario at midnight Thursday.
He says the higher cost is due to an increase in the cost of whole sale gasoline.
“The so called futures market for gasoline and oil really rocketed, we’re talking 12 cents a gallon for gasoline and oil picked up about almost three and a half dollars a barrel.”
McTeague adds western Canada, including Alberta and B.C., will also see a bump at the pumps.
