AMDSB ready to welcome students back

The Avon Maitland District School Board says its ready for students to return.

Officials tell MyStratfordNow.com approximately 95-percent of students are expected to return to in-person learning and they say elementary school health and safety protocols will look very similar to the 2020-2021 school year.

Students will be asked to screen for COVID-19 symptoms before coming to school, remain in their classes, wear masks, and take regular breaks for hand hygiene.

Secondary schools will have the same health and safety protocols in place as far as masks and hand hygiene go, but instead of having one course a day as they did last year, they will have two courses a day with one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.

Full online remote learning will be offered for students who chose that option.

The new school year is set to begin next Tuesday.
