If you get a call about an overdue hydro bill, be careful.
The Huron County OPP says this is most likely a scam.
A Goderich resident got a call last week from someone pretending to work for the hydro company.
The intended victim caught on that it was a scam, refused to pay, and then hung up.
Police say you should use caution if you get a call like this and verify that the caller is who they say they are.
If you get a call or email from someone claiming to work for a hydro company call the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 to report the scam attempt.
