Dr.Klassen says COVID-19 vaccines will help keep schools open

Vaccines are the big game changer when it comes to keeping COVID-19 out of our schools.

That’s according to Huron Perth Medical Officer of Health Dr.Miriam Klassen who says now that students turning 12 can get their shots, along with teachers and staff, it will help keep the doors open throughout the school year.

She adds students also know what to expect when it comes to COVID-19 safety.

“They know how to put on masks, they are very aware of the physical distancing, this isn’t new anymore, it’s not all brand new, it’s something we’ve been doing for a while and so we know how to do it successfully.”

Dr.Klassen says another tool in ensuring a successful school year are the new ventilation systems many added over the summer.
