A COVID-19 related death of a child under the age of ten is being reported in Waterloo Region.
The region’s medical officer of health says the child also had underlying health conditions.
Officials say there were no school-related or childcare-related exposures connected to the case.
They add the death serves as a devastating reminder of the serious nature of this virus with case numbers rising in the area.
